What kind of sleeping arrangements are these two-seater folding beds designed for?
Most of our two-person models accommodate a 140x190 cm mattress, with some references going up to 160x200 cm for a queen-size bed. This format is designed for two adults for daily use, unlike single versions which are reserved for guest rooms. Each model's product sheet specifies the exact sleeping dimensions.
Does the mattress stay in place when these double beds are folded up?
Yes, that's the whole point of the mechanism. The retaining straps keep the mattress, sheets, and even the duvet in place during folding, so there's nothing to remake each morning. You raise the bed in one motion and it disappears into the cabinet. This is a real time-saver compared to a classic sofa bed that needs to be unfolded.
Should I choose a vertical or horizontal model for a double bed?
The vertical version folds upwards and requires high ceilings; it's suitable when the wall is short. The horizontal version tilts sideways and remains lower once opened, practical under a sloped roof or a mezzanine. For a two-person format, the horizontal model occupies more floor width, which often influences the choice depending on the room. What mattress thickness can be used with these folding beds?
Most of our two-person beds accept a mattress up to 18 to 25 cm thick, which allows for good daily sleeping comfort. Beyond that, folding becomes more difficult and the mattress risks straining in the cabinet. Aim for a proper foam density if you sleep on it every night; thickness alone doesn't guarantee comfort.
How much floor space do these beds save?
Once folded, a two-person wall bed rarely exceeds 35 to 40 cm in depth against the wall, whereas an open bed takes up nearly two meters. This frees up the entire central surface of the room during the day. It's the preferred solution for a studio, a guest room that doubles as an office, or a multi-purpose room.
Are these double beds available combined with a sofa or a desk?
Yes, several models combine the wall bed with a front sofa or a fold-down desk. The sofa remains usable when the bed is closed, and the desk surface can remain equipped even when you lower the bed on some models.
