Why Density Makes All the Difference

The flaw of a cheap click-clack sofa isn't its appearance, which lasts a few years. It's its foam, which sags in a few months.

A click-clack sofa folds in half with each closing, exactly in the same places. Low-density foam eventually retains the impression of the fold and loses its support, first in the seat, then in the sleeping area. For daily use, the rule is clear: at least 35 kg/m³ for high-resilience foam, or 60 kg/m³ for latex. Below that, comfort deteriorates quickly, regardless of the fabric.

Our models start with this requirement. Their mattresses, 15 to 20 cm thick, are designed for regular sleeping, not just for occasional weekend use.

The Frame, the Other Half of the Price

The second invisible component is the frame.

On our premium models, the frame is reinforced, often made of solid wood. This is not a decorative argument: it's what withstands repeated opening and closing without play or creaking. A lightweight frame deforms over time, and it's the frame, more than the fabric, that determines the actual lifespan of the furniture.

A well-built click-clack sofa lasts for years and withstands daily use. An entry-level frame wears out in places you never look.

The Central Gap, and How to Address It

Let's be honest about the limitation of the click-clack sofa, because it exists and a high-end model corrects it better than others.

In bed position, a click-clack mattress folds in half and leaves a slight dip in the middle of the sleeping area. On our premium models, the thickness and density of the mattress significantly reduce this sensation. And for truly daily sleeping, a mattress topper completely eliminates the fold.

This is the compromise of the click-clack sofa, and it's worth knowing before purchasing. In return, this mechanism offers two advantages that other convertibles don't always have: an opening parallel to the wall, practical in large rooms, and especially an integrated storage chest on most models.

Removable and Customizable Covers

Furniture used daily must be cleanable. All our high-end click-clack sofas are 100% removable: you remove the cover for cleaning, and depending on the model, you can change it later.

The selection comes in about a hundred fabrics. This changes the way you choose: the shade and material become a separate decision, once the model has been chosen for its mechanism and comfort.
