Extendable table for 12 people

Yes, this is the core of this selection. Once all extensions are deployed, these models offer sufficient length to comfortably seat 10 to 12 people, allowing for approximately 60 cm of seating width per guest. The extensions are stored either inside the tabletop or in the legs, depending on the model, which means you don't have to store them elsewhere between meals.

This is the main advantage of these tables and consoles. When closed, several of our models reduce to a narrow console, 30 to 40 cm deep, which can be placed against a wall, or to a classic-sized table for 6 people. The large capacities are only deployed on reception days; for the rest of the year, you reclaim a good portion of your living space.

There are mainly two systems in this selection. The first relies on integrated, so-called butterfly, extensions that fold under the tabletop and can be pulled out in a few steps. The second works with separate extensions that are inserted in the center after separating the two halves of the tabletop. The sliding mechanisms on bearings make opening fluid, even over long lengths.

It depends on the model, but generally, expect three to four extensions of about 40 to 50 cm each to reach this capacity. Some very compact consoles initially require more extensions to reach 12 place settings, while others already start from a wider base. The selection combines several materials. Wooden or wood-veneered tabletops provide robustness to support the weight once the table is extended, while tempered glass versions offer a visually lighter appearance. For the legs, we find metal and solid wood. For frequent use with 12 people, it is better to choose a very rigid structure that does not flex over the entire length.

Chairs are not included with these table and console models. However, a few references in the selection include a compartment or system designed to store folding chairs, which is practical when you need to seat 12 people occasionally. For the rest, you can freely use your own seating.

To accommodate 12 guests, the extended tabletop often reaches 2.80 m to 3.20 m in length, compared to 1.40 to 1.80 m when closed. Also, remember to allow about 70 cm of clearance around the table so everyone can sit and move around. Check your space once the table is in its maximum position; this is the measurement that matters on the big day.
