Occupying a large part of the bedroom, the traditional single, double or king size bed is used for between 6 and 12 hours per night. By definition, the bed is unused for the other 12 hours of the day. When the home or bedroom is small, the space-saving bed is a retractable piece of furniture that allows you to find floor space and circulation space. - The wardrobe bed in a child's bedroom. It is possible to opt for foldaway bunk beds or a single bed, to save space in a small bedroom , which are alternatives to trundle beds and a raised bed.
Without necessarily being a wardrobe bed, the space-saving bed can be stored on the ceiling, with a mattress lifting system, which therefore frees up floor space.
Foldable beds can have storage spaces for bed linen. In some models, it is possible to leave the blankets, duvet and pillows on, even when the bed is folded.
The discreet and sober design of the space-saving bed
A furniture bed can accommodate all types of mattresses: spring, latex or foam. The bed frame is either a plank-shaped base or a slatted base. The electric or relaxation bed base is hardly compatible with space-saving furniture.
Appearing in the form of a large wardrobe, the space-saving bed can blend in perfectly with the decoration of a room. The facade can be in oak, melamine or lacquered. The decorative cabinet handles serve as a hand grip for opening and closing the bed.
